In essence it is a place where - if you like a web page or article - I mean you really DIGG IT - you add a note or a tag to that effect in Digg.com. Each of these tags is worth one link to the web site, which makes your site more highly ranked in Search Engines. If you have an article with lots of these notes, or Diggs it can become very popular. Sites gaining more Diggs can be featured on Digg's "Fastest Risers" page, and this tends to attract more Diggs. The most popular articles make it on to the home page of Digg. To get a link from Digg's home page to your own web site is a great achievement (Digg's home page has a "Google Page Rank" of 8). If you have an article that you think has merit of some sort, you can submit it to digg - as long as you take out a free membership there first. Then you hope that others will find it interesting enough to Digg our article too. IN Digg they call it a SHOUT - here we have a HOOT, but whatever you call it, its a message to your friends to look at your recently submitted article, and DIGG IT! Any of these links from Digg will help your site to rank more highly, but should you get a lot of Diggs, perhaps you'll get a buster-link from Digg's home page too! Find inkahoot on DIGG! |
