Linked-in

Linked-In is the leading Business Social Networking site.  It is said that the average earnings of the Linked-In user is $100,000, and whether that is true or not, it definitely attracts a businessy type of user.  Its features are geared towards business discussions, unlike say Bebo which is mostly about teenager's photos of the weekend!

Your first task in Linked-In is to create a profile, where you typically list your company, previous work history, links to your web sites (these are "NOFOLLOW" links so search engines do not really count them, but users might still visit your site through them).

The Groups feature if Linked In is very popular - you can join groups of like-minded users, and once in a group you may post a link to your blog post in the "news" section, open up a discussion which may or may not promote further discussion.

You can add applications to your profile, including My Travel where you list your journeys, or the TypePad blog applicaiton which shows blog posts of your connections.

You can also create a company page, with information about your company, your logo, web sites, products or services.

Linked In is possibly the most useful Newtork for those in business and gives a wealth of tools which can help you to make and cultivate good business contacts. We highly recommend this network for those in busienss, so enjoy giving it a go.
